Actors on Actors: In Conversation with Rebecca Pidgeon
Actors on Actors: In Conversation with Rebecca Pidgeon
“When you are on stage, you are sensitive to the least little shift in the attention of the audience. You know when they are with you, and you know when they are not.”
Rebecca Pidgeon studied acting at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, and at that time, the school was managed like a repertory theatre company. But there no particular acting method taught. Any acting technique received came from the professional directors who worked with the school. Thus, Rebecca found an approach that made sense to her – an approach that is the opposite of “The Method”, far looser, freer and centered on being in the moment. She believes that through this, emotions come organically and frees the actor to simply enjoy his work.
In this actor on actor conversation, Rebecca will speak with filmmaker and actor Laliv Sivan on their approach to acting, difference between theater and film, and their overall approach to art.
