Cannes Film Festival 2021, in Competition.

A delicate and brilliant drama that sensitively reveals surprising and painful truths about intimacy, creativity, loyalty and love. Chris and Tony decide to spend a summer writing on the Swedish island of Fårö, where legendary director Ingmar Bergman lived and worked. Both are filmmakers - she is at the beginning of her career and he is an established and valued filmmaker. As their scripts progress and they become acquainted with the island's wild and breathtaking landscapes, the boundaries between reality and fiction blur and undermine their love. British actor Tim Roth and rising Luxembourg star Vicky Krieps ("Phantom Thread") play the couple in the seventh film by revered French director Mia Hansen-Løve, which draws inspiration from her relationship with director Olivier Assayas.
