Directing Trauma – On the Emotional Economy at the Heart of the Set.
Directing Trauma – On the Emotional Economy at the Heart of the Set.
An open conversation between creators, writers, and directors about the centrality of trauma in Israeli creation. Whether it’s in family, sexuality, or war, we’ll explore how to separate personal experiences from works that stand on their own. We’ll also discuss the responsibility of a director who chooses to deal with trauma, for themselves, for the actors, and the crew on set. The creators will present different practical approaches to directing personal experiences and share their insights from the film set.
Participants: Oded Davidoff (“Someone to Run With”, “Missing File”, “Red Dawn”); Asaf Korman (“Normal”, “Next to Her”); Zohar Wagner ("Savoy"), Yuval Shafferman (“Uri and Ella”, “On the Spectrum”, “Tito and Rocho”); and Tom Nesher (“Come Closer”). The panel will be host by Talia Bernstein.
