Nobutoshi the samurai, returns to the mountain where his father died 20 years ago to escort a shamisen player named Hana, but soon he finds his death there too. Hana saves Nobutoshi and brings him back to life with the magical strings of her shamisen, but Nobutoshi decides to abort the mission and to descend the mountain. They search for a safe place for the night and end up finding Nobutoshi's childhood home, but a mysterious and powerful demon warrior attacks Nobutoshi during the night.

Nobutoshi fights for his life and can barely keep up against the warrior, then Hana comes to his aid, playing on her shamisen and the music gives Nobutoshi energy and the power to stand against his enemy. Nobutoshi understands that the strings that Hana sewed into his wounds give him a power that other warriors want for themselves and he demands from Hana to remove them. Hana promises to do it if he will escort her through the mountain, Nobutoshi has no choice but to continue the mission.
