“The City” Screening Israeli Premiere
“The City” Screening Israeli Premiere
The Israeli premiere of the detective rap opera "The City," a film by Amit Ulman, a full-length cinematic adaptation based on the successful theater show. "The City" began as a rap opera on stage , which ran for a decade across Israel and around the world. The creators always had a vision of a cinematic version and now, for the first time, there will be a festive screening of the movie at TISFF. The film is a celebration of creativity, genre forms and independent cinema in Israel. It is the work of local young filmmakers and artists who recruited and raised an extraordinary independent production.
After the screening, there will be a conversation with the filmmakers moderated by Matan Sharon about the independent creative process in the country with tips for the creative audience.
"Language is the strongest power in the world. It creates worlds and destroys them, the power is in the hands of those who choose to express themselves, not necessarily those who make things happen ... Rap is a style of virtuosity - choosing words and how to say them" (Amit Ulman)
