Sarah, 24, brings her boyfriend Olivier, 30, home to meet her bourgeois family who are staunch supporters of education and good manners. Alone in the bedroom, waiting for lunch to be served, Sarah performs fellatio on Olivier. They are interrupted by Sarah’s parents and her two brothers, who have been watching the act through a two-way mirror and consider it poorly carried out. Will Sarah embrace their criticism? Long before “Titane”, Marina de Van showed that there is a place for films that explore female sexuality and family relations through discomfort and the horror genre. All of these themes were already present in this short film (shown at the 7th TISFF), and especially in her feature directorial debut, in which she also acted, “In My Skin” (2002). Besides the films she directed, de Van also worked with Francoise Ozon on numerous projects, including the co-writing of “8 Women”.
