Short on the Way 2024
Short on the Way 2024
The annual "Short on the Way" pitching event.
"Short on the Way" is a long-term collaboration between the Gesher Multicultural Film Fund and the Tel Aviv International Student Film Festival. The project aims to support young filmmakers at the beginning of their professional careers as they work towards their first feature films.
This year's theme for submissions was “Hope,” as we believe that engaging with the concept of hope in public discourse can truly amplify its impact. Independent filmmakers from across the country were invited to write and submit proposals for short films on this theme, to enhance and explore “Hope” through the powerful medium of cinema.
Out of all the submissions received this year, six applications were awarded development grants and received personal guidance in scriptwriting from filmmaker and screenwriter Sari Turgeman. During the festival, these six filmmakers will present their projects in a pitching event to a panel of judges, industry professionals, and the general public. One project will win a production grant provided by the Gesher Multicultural Film Fund. The winning project will be announced at the festival's closing night, and the film produced will be screened at the opening night of the Tel Aviv International Student Film Festival 2025.
